Annual Forest sector award "Zelta Čiekurs" (Golden Cone) were presented to people, whose daily work had brought the significant achievements as contributions o the development of forest sector and the promotion of sector’s sustainability on December 1, 2022.

The award in nomination "For science investment on the development of forest sector" was presented to the "Silava's" research group of forest climate change – senior researcher Āris Jansons, researcher Daiga Zute, scientific assistants Ieva Jaunslaviete, Laura Ķēniņa and Valters Samariks, for the study Assessment of greenhouse gas emission and CO2 sequestration in old forest stands.
