The aim of the research is to evaluate the forest ecosystem services in Latvia. With a methodology developed during previous years and tested in a model area in the state forests, provisioning, regulating and cultural ecosystems of all forests in Latvia will be carried out, irrespective of the ownership. Currently developed more than 30 indicators will be supplemented with new indicators for cultural ecosystem services, currently the least studied aspect of the topic.
The research results will be presented in two scientific and several popular science publications, a monograph "Forest Ecosystem Services in Latvia" and open-access dataset providing quantitative information and depicting spatial distribution of the studied ecosystem services.
