Investigating the causes for large-scale die-back of spruce stands in the forests managed by the JSC "Latvia's State Forests"

The aim of the study is to find out the possible reasons for the mass damage of spruce stands in the forests owned by JSC "Latvia's State Forests" (LVM) and to develop the recommendations for the management of damaged stands.

The tasks of the study work are:

1. Establishment of plots and acquisition of empirical data.
2. Data analysis and development of recommendations.
3. Organizing and conducting a seminar for the employees of JSC "Latvia's State Forests", introducing them to the progress of the project and the achieved results.
