On Friday, September 29, there was organised the annual event – European Researcher's Night, held in the scientific institutes and universities for popularizing science and its achievements to the society.
LSFRI "Silava" organised "Forest science afternoon" as the part of the European Researcher's Night and offered the wide programm with different activities: paneldiscussion for high school pupil, 10 quest activities, 2 exhibitions, a creative workshop and an activity for little children of pre-school education.
As the part of the event, there was also opportunity for visitors to participate in the Final seminars of the two research projects of LSFRI "Silava":
- Elaboration of innovative White willow – perennial grass agroforestry systems on marginal mineral soils improved by wood ash and less demanded peat fractions amendments (video, in Latvian), and
- Climate change mitigation potential of trees in shelter belts of drainage ditches in cropland and grassland (video, in Latvian).
