The Forest Environmental Laboratory of Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" has created a database of Latvian soil spectral information, using the archive of soil samples and their physicochemical analysis results accumulated during many years of scientific activity. With the admission of the Forest Environment Laboratory to the group for institutions and laboratories SoilSpecNet developed by the international network of soil laboratories GLOSOLAN, the Forest Environmental Laboratory of LSFRI "Silava" is recognized as a laboratory what capable of providing high quality soil spectrometry services that corresponds to the standards of these organizations. A formal announcement of the acceptance is planned at the International Symposium of Soil Data and Information, what will be held in China.
