LSFRI "Silava" in forest education event – Latvian Forest Days

At the end of May, there was the forest education event – Latvian Forest Days, where students and families from all over Latvia came to get the knowledge of forest sector. The aim of the event is to raise the public awareness of the importance of forests in mitigating climate change.

This year 14.7 thousand visitors of all ages visited this two-day festival. Also scientists of LSFRI "Silava" took part, offering the interesting activities: "Animals and the new forest – how to live together", "Spruce pest eight-toothed spruce bark beetle", "Wind damage" and "Fungus war. Is it the success story of Latvia?" and "European Climate pact – the newest actualities and solutions".
