From 18 to 23 of May, the 3rd International Conference From Forests to Heritage took place in Klagenfurt (Austria). This year, the Conference was held jointly with the 2026 World Wood Day Symposium and the 8th IUFRO Forest Products Culture Colloquium. The event brought together scientists, museum professionals and representatives of public authorities from Europe, the United States, Brazil, China, Japan, and other countries.

Researh assistant of LSFRI 'Silava', Agita Treimane also participated in the Conference, presenting the poster "Public habits and preferences in the use of non-wood forest resources in Latvia and their availability in forests". The presentation focused on the results of the Forest Development Fund funded research project Evaluation of non-timber forest products and services, their contribution to the national economy of Latvia, carried out at LSFRI 'Silava'.

Participation in the Conference provided valuable insights into current research methods for studying wood and non-wood forest products, as well as an opportunity to learn about the experience of other countries in conducting long-term research and preserving cultural heritage.
