Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" received awards in two categories at the award ceremony for the LIFE research programmes on December 4:
- Most active implementer of LIFE research in the public sector, and
- Most significant LIFE contribution to Climate Change Solutions – for the implementing the LIFE OrgBalt project.
And, also as a partner in the LIFE GoodWaterIP project, which received the award "Most nationally significant LIFE research project".

The awards recognize the contribution of LSFRI "Silava" to promoting sustainable environmental management and its significant work in implementing the European Union LIFE programme.
The LIFE Award is a recognition event organized by the European Commission for Latvian LIFE research projects and is being held for the fourth time. The aim of the "LIFE Award 2025" competition is to raise awareness of the European Commission's LIFE programme in Latvia by identifying, highlighting, and promoting its most successful projects.
