The scientists of LSFRI "Silava" participated in the 21th International Scientific Conference "Engineering for Rural Development" on May 25–27, 2022 in Jelgava (Latvia).
The Conference focused on the new technologies and scientific research in the areas of agriculture, energetics, engineering, engineering education, transport as well as on other topical engineering problems. This were a possibility to provide technology transfer from scientists to enterprises and exchange information with specialists in area of research from different European countries.
Scientists of LSFRI "Silava" presented several research projects:

- Butlers A., Spalva G., Līcīte I., Purviņa D. Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from naturally wet and drained nutrient-rich organic forests soils;
- Kalēja S., Butlers A. Evaluation of public attitude to forest drainage as climate change mitigation measure;
- Lazdiņš A., Butlers A., Ancāns R. Nitrous oxide (N2O) and methane (CH4) fluxes from tree stems in birch and black alder stands – a case study in forests with deep peat soils;
