Researchers of LSFRI "Silava" researchers Jānis Donis and Āris Jansons participated in the 3rd International Conference on Fire Behavior and Risk on May 3–6, 2022, held in Alghero (Italy). Conference also included a Special Session on "Remote Sensing and Fires" under the patronage of EARSEL’s Special Interest Group on Forest Fires. The Conference aims the involve scientists, researchers and policy makers whose activities are focused on different aspects of fires and their impacts.

LSFRI Silava researchers presented the report "Trees as a legacies of forest fires in Scots pine dominated standing: a case study in Latvia", the results of the research about impact of climate change on forestry and its risks, describing the usual response to fire.
