The aim of the research project Recommendations for Improving the Management of Deer Ungulate Hunting was to find possible solutions for the management of the cervidian cloven-hoofed population, which is aimed at reducing conflict between forestry and the hunting farm.

Within the framework of the study,there were analysed and compiled information obout the experience of other countries, described situation about the management of the hunting farm till nowadays and evaluated the quality of data which characterising the state of populations.

For improving the management of cloven-hoofed populations in Latvia, facilitating the administrative process and as soon as possible achieving the desired changes in nature, a number of new requirements should be introduced in data collection for describing the dynamics of populations and the state of the cloven-hoofed environment, as well as accurate accounting of the animals hunted and related parameters should be ensured.
