"We are extremely pleased and honored that The King will participate and inaugurate the Congress, showing his interest in forest issues," says Fredrik Ingemarson, Chair of the Organizing Committee.

IUFRO 26th World Congress will bring together more than 5,000 world-class scientists to discuss the latest scientific discoveries and advances in forest science over seven days in 200 scientific sessions.

The Congress will feature 15 special in-congress excursions, with two exceptional visits to royal landscapes, courtesy of HM King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. Delegates will have the opportunity to go on these excursions, gaining a unique insight into Sweden's diverse forests and forestry methods. The itinerary will also include the Royal Drottningholm Castle Park and the Haga Park, which will enrich the understanding of forests from both a historical and cultural perspective.
