The representives of JSC Latvijas Finieris, Latvian Academy of Sciences, Latvian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and the Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" signed the "Regulation of the Young Forest Scientists Research Award" on October 30, 2023.
The award for young forest scientists and PhD students was created to promote development of scientific opinion, based in the Latvian sector of forest and forestry, Latvian society's knowledge of forestry, as well as to promote motivation of young forest scientists.
The Young Forest Scientist Research Award will be awarded at least once in every two years for research in forestry, promoting the exploration of the Latvian forest ecosystem in connection with people' purposeful work in it. The Award is intended to be assigned to young forest scientists or PhD students for scientific performance – published scientific, popular-scientific articles and other active and civil positions for the support of Latvian forestry.
