  • Topic 1. Development of forest resource forecasting models
    The activities of topic are the development of technologies for setting up and growing intensively cultivated spruce stands, surveying existing objects in agricultural and forest lands, development of the future management plan for the objects in the database of long-term sample plots, and the creation of rating scales adequate for Latvia for pine, spruce, birch and aspen.
  • Topic 2. Productivity assessment and management regime of birch groves with a second floor of spruce
  • Topic 3. Use of DNA marker methods in forest tree selection and evaluation of genetic resources
  • Topic 4. Forest phytopathological risks: biological protection of conifer stumps against root rot using Latvian isolates of the fungus Phlebiopsis gigantea
