Project partners are BF-ESSE Ltd. (leading partner), Aneva J Ltd., LSFRI 'Silava', Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment 'BIOR', Excelsior Trade Ltd., a/f Kurmīši.
The Study aims to develop innovative food and agricultural solutions using bioactive substances and by-products from forest processing resources. The project combines two directions: the development of functional food products — juices with vitamins, polyprenols, chlorophyll, and the use of forest by-products to improve soil fertility and biological plant protection.
The project will result in the creation and testing of prototypes of functional food products — concentrated juices, jellies, lyophilized products, developed technologies for the stabilization of bioactive substances and new fermentation methods for teas. Field trials will also be conducted to introduce forest by-products as soil improvers and coniferous tree extracts as biological plant protection products.
