Project partners are Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU, leading partner), LSFRI "Silava", Institute of Agroresources and Economics, Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment "BIOR", and Institute of Horticulture.
Total funding of Project is 1,404,492.97 EUR, incl. ERDF funding 1,193,819.02 EUR (85%) un state budget funding 210,673.95 EUR (15%).

The aim of the Project is to strengthen the human capital capacity of research and development in areas of smart specialization necessary for the growth and transformation of the national economy.

The target group of the Project is doctoral students.

Project provides support in the form of financial grants to doctoral students, which contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Latvian Smart Specialization Strategy and the development of specialization areas:

  • knowledge-intensive bioeconomy;
  • biomedicine, medical technologies and pharmacy;
  • photonics and smart materials, technologies and engineering systems;
  • smart energy mobility;
  • information and communication technologies.
