European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan 2023—2027 Intervention LA 16 "Support for the implementation of European Innovation Partnership working group projects" activity "EIP working group project at sector level" agreement No. 25-00-C0LA1601-000017

Project partners are LSFRI 'Silava' (leading partner), University of Latvia, JSC 'Biolat', 'Gourmet Industries' Ltd., Foundation for Plant and Peat Innovations (nodibinājums "Stādu un kūdras inovāciju fonds") and forester A. Adamovičs.
The total funding of the Project: EUR 299,989.12, incl. public funding of EUR 269,990.20.
The aim of the Study is to develop and validate a prototype of biodegradable plant pots from coniferous biomass logging by-products and artificial humus derived from them. The solution will replace plastic and peat pots with an alternative that degrades in the soil and releases micro- and macronutrients in a controlled long-term manner, reducing plant transplant shock and improving seedling growth.
